Black Farewell
My heart is breaking when I feel like you don’t care
The sky is sunny but my heartache fills the air
Infusing darkness in the light
You swore you'd be my divine knight
And protect me from the dark that now begins to grow in me
When you left
You’d swear you’d care for eternity
But why weren’t you there for this heart in me
Infusing the darkness with your lust
Your shadow is a casket that drags your soul in the dust
Riding heartless you strode away and fill the air
With your leave of absence
In the heart and soul of the fair in a black farewell
Once More Counting down the days you said You’d see to greeting me Once more Lies buried deep in the darkest shore The subtleness of the sublime Buried in the whispers on your deepest lore For years I searched for secrets buried there The compass revealeth to me I scurried in all furry when I didn’t find What I meant you’d meant for me Buried in the darkness of the deepest shore Once more No trace of a human With a soul Only ghosts in the mist with their fury roar Lost you to the whispers on your deepest lore This was your plan wrought on me And all you had in store To lose me to the waves of the darkest shore Once more In the trace of the darkness Longing for resolution On this dolorous shore Inspired by John William Waterhouse's Miranda in Shakespeare's The Temptest
Thought you were Coming
Wish i could taste just one kiss
The warmth of your soul
To melt my frozen heart
Stuck in the ice age of lovelessness
And bring tears to my eyes
Frozen to the pain
Of sorrow in a land barren of love
And lost affection like life blown in the dust of despair
And around the bend
I see you
And my eyes feel the warmth of heaven
My body can’t move but my heart beats like the warmest day in spring
And although the ice is thick
The sun shines over the path
As I watch you near me
Only to see you disappear beneath the shade of the trees that live in the ice
And growing in its pain
My heart believed you came close
Once near
To forever disappear
My dear
Here, here
Dove
The blackest blood flowing through the wings of the dove of darkness
Its flight takes on in the city of wonder
Beneath the sea and above the sky
A flight in the darkest light
Faster than the speed of sight
Like a shriek in the night
A blackness in the white
A heavenly rite
She disappears before you take sight
The darkest spark in the light of night
Teases you in the darkest right
Her wings hold the moon of your eyes
In the centre of peaceful obstruction
You’ll lose your heart before you notice she’s gone
Mermaid Love lost in the seas of time
The waves sound the calls of a mermaid
Asking you to be mine
Churning with the anger of the seas
For those who lost long held beliefs
And for sadness that’s seen no relief
The shrill of the calls never cease
Of the lost
At sea
At love
At hope
Long lost
In the frost of the waves
Venturing to space
And out to sea
We call to shore
Longing for something more
To the ends of time
Unrest is in the waves
Of the souls of the mermaids
And all who are lost
Calling the payments of the cost.
July 1000 years fly by in time a day, a moment to make you mine and taste those finest lips sprouting from winter's wine the blossoms shriveled their sad song swept into the leaves their cherries wept
a dream so long ago the storm battled from yonder its form with your soul the earth is shattering tastes of a song's notes hung in the sky many miles above and yet drifting near I your words made me weep as I clamoured to sleep that still night dead in the month of July.
July Part 2 In a burial gown I laid those secrets to rest in the dust of their forlorn doom, unrest, screeching their fury of varied digest as the voices played demons to the soul in my chest. I scampered around and without a sound, danced wayward in stride abandoning these feelings in the field in their cry hoping they'd cease as they very well die.
Must go
Let my spirit free
From your sting, I thought you were a bee
But you turned into a wasp, your sting a paralyser
In your web of deceit, I no longer cling
This summer bird must take wing
She sings a song calling for freedom in this dungeon of no release
A bird trapped in a cage
If I attempt to fly I’ll brake against your bars
And yet there’s a sky filled with stars
I must know, the time to take flight is upcoming
And is becoming of me to know when you’ll have the grace to know I must go/let me go
8. Living in Madness (October 17, 2009) The tears of sorrow shed in a day of our world could flow a river wide we play beautiful on the outside but beneath our hide the tears we cried welled up over time and overtook us as a tide my, my, for all those tears cried could extinguish the fires of hell with our sorrow inside we live on our lives without mercy the world makes us grow through the years, more frightened and angry, although no one said this life would be pain-free, who wrought this sadness onto me bears sadness unforetold, thus we all cry, although we smile, as we grow old.
Our tears could water the fields of Africa, though our sorrow can't extinguish the fires of hell, and even though we may appear well, we are burning and drowning- a fear we can't forever quell, our tears swell up and out, so we may be spared of drowning in our sadness, sadness, sadness, - we are living in madness.
Spiritually hers, you belong to me
Spiritual awakening of the soul
Like learning to walk after you crawl
Desiring to kiss you forevermore
A single breath breaks the silence needed to open the door
A touch can break the disdainful lore
Of absence in the presence of strangers
Spiritually yours
You belong to her
Spiritually yours
You belong
The grass whispers to the sea
Come hither
And her tide raises no questions
To the sea
Spiritually hers
You belong to me
The Sun Never Sets
With you
the milk never spoils
the sun never sets
With you
I have (no cause for): regrets in next sentence without 'no'
no regrets
the ink never runs dry
and all birds can fly
alas I've found none better yet
the crows don't crow
and the larks always sing
forever the season
in my heart
is spring
all winters past
so long ago
I've moved to a sunny clime
I feel you carried me there in sleep
awoke to the sun forever in the sky
Northern blasts blasted away
warmth of the soul forever to stay
hung in the sky
always up high
and the only breezes that blast are warm
in the storms I'm sheltered
in your arms
all fury must go
for tonight I'm in Heaven up here in the sky
with the sea below and the sun up high.
"Love" Scared, lonely and in love
Love is the fear,.for if you get too near,..there is no roadmap back
You’re off the road for safety
And the key doesn’t turn off the engine as you back off the cliff
And you know you’re going to die
But you still hope to fly as you fall deeper and deeper
Until you smash that dreaded smash
And realise you’re up against the cold concrete of his heart
The lie you kept to quell your belief
Oh, that you’d live,. but know you are dying
Blood flowing from the veins you thought would spring life
Yes, now you are dying, dying, dead
Bleeding from the heart
Sorrow in the head
Buried in the concrete bed
You realise nothing but cold steel awaits you
Lies made you
Yes,..lies that bore you bore your death.
Lamentations of the Heart / Elegy of a Broken Heart
Lamentations of the heart
Oh, where to start?
Lord, please accept
these confessions
I may impart
benighted weary soul Thou cease, from the dark one release,
slavery of the black death
if my countenance let the eyes spring tar and the heart laments,
would Thou accept the shame of Thy back-bent? (back-bent: Bent on blackened, sinful endeavours)
Save Thy lamb that flees Thy flock
to die the black death
that enslaves the lost
at every cost
I persist weakly to return, back to You
to my loves, my friends, those led well
away from these caves
that goblins dwell
So, hear this elegy of a broken heart
cursed emotions, the dark impart
Oh, in lamentations, where to start?
Lord lead devotion of the blackest heart
Like stone this absenced vessel sings
to pull on the heart strings, a slave bell rings,
their environs, in pestilence grew
maneour to feed the crops of benightment
For this is my plight sent
Chivalry set in antiquity dead
spare the heart Evil wed
Thou hear thy moan-
blackened heart stone
broken bone
I grew sorrow from the whips of its lash
My actions rash, lips of brash,
the pain inflicted, sins predicted
tar streaming from eyes lost hope
So hear my prayer
the laments I declare
these sins I wear
so please spare
the soul I bare.
The Sickroom
Hook me on the IV
Don’t let my tongue taste blood
You hover cold, unloving
I know you not but the sky is cloudy and the air is thick
Your breath is cold, so cold, in a room so hot
I remember your words, they always prick
Like a rose’s thorns the ants climb up
You promise me glory but feed me the blood I refuse to taste
Eternal trickster
The beauty above you claim is a waste
I refuse to believe, though my blinded eyes shut
I refuse to let you be my eyes, you are so low
For how can I know there ain’t grass under the snow?
And Life under death?
About to root upwards
And trample you down, my skin perspires but you smirk as I frown
Oh, please hook me on the IV and don’t let me feel
I want to believe that love moves like the wheel
Never ceasing, always releasing,
And forever kind, they don’t take advantage of the blind.
The blinds blow as the window’s left open
The final words of hell have spoken
I beg you to shut it but you carry the sickle to drive it in my heart
I know not your words, I can’t make out their signs but their reverberating hate
Showers on me above, and fills the room with heat
the rain is a comfort to wash it away
It dulls in comparison to you, oh great
the pain only wounds but wounds make me stronger
in this sick room I refuse to reside no longer
and as I can’t see or hear no more
an angel of light blasts in my mind
and calls me to leave this world behind
and bidding your bye
I welcome the love of God as I die
Away from your fury
Away from your cry
Away from the hell you rejoice in tonight
For this is your palace but mine is up high
Forever my heart will rejoice in the sky
So these are my final words goodbye
Oh hatred, tonight I am leaving you
Oh hatred goodbye, goodbye, goodbye.
Death's Crown
You desire to kill, to kill me tonight
You desire that I should not put up a fight
You want to blacken all that is white
Dull the bright, break the right
You promise the birds a higher heaven to fly
I peer into the sky and I hear them cry
I know they are prey to your games
We cannot see them in the clouds above
But they die, they die and they fall to the ground
You promised them butter but painted them brown
They fail to wear the eternal crown
How far these birds wanted to fly
To reach heaven like the tower of Babylon
So they struck a deal with you
Although they could fly so free
They wanted to go far beyond to see
But when they flew too far from my sight and disappeared in the clouds
I knew you killed them, o blooded their guts were not seen!
Though how beautiful and white these babies had been
I stand and the air is innocent like you like it
And the passers around are unaware
Oh, it’s the innocent you relish in despair
And a beautiful blue bird comes crashing down
Out from the clouds, a blooded bundle
I pick him up and his face bears the countenance of death
Another shot fires and his brothers break down
The hunter steps from the bushes and says
I wear death’s crown
Blood or Love
On a beautiful September morning you hand me a rose
And I prickle in its poison all winter
Watered in the waters of despair
This is your unprecedented flair
All of innocence beware
The eyes of its bloom stare
In its blooded care
Suckle its needs till death
Your countenance brings hope like a spring wreath
Woven in lies
A lonesome wolf cries
Is he in want of blood or love?
Heaven Sadness, oh sadness,
When will one come who will make my heart rise?
Far above the skies
Where is real love on this earth anymore?
For I give freely but am empty on return
Where is the one who will give me the love I yearn?
Sadness, oh send me your rival
Send me the light
Lend me the eyes of divine vision to make all the wrongs right
There are so many flowers tonight, and I want to touch them but must only smell
For I cannot see their thorns, but are there any without?
On this crystal moon night, I close my eyes and pretend
The thorns are gone and the wounds have closed
This is Eden, oh Eden,.. You must believe if you want to know
What’s right because it’s not here, so close your eyes with me
And pretending I am not here, I smell God’s creation and know
In my heart, in heaven I go.
Lament of Adam
O Eva of my bone, brought me to the tomb
sinister Miss, our life was bliss!
but now our sons roam
the fall of this hearth; divorce of Heaven and Earth
in pain you give birth
and I at the plow; this is our life now
Blood of my blood, you were of my bone
I treasured you, loved you, called you my own
out of heaven we have been thrown!
and now I sit all alone
before this earth did I roam
none was suitable to share the throne
when you did I find loving me
your eyes like blossoms, through them I could see
I called you baby bubble bee
but now a wasp, you sting me!
Eat the apple from the tree, so now we have the eyes to see!
Through the Holy Spirit of Three
In Heaven we married in the communion of life
but now our lives are full of strife
in my heart cut the wounds of a thousand knives
O my Eve, look at our lives!
Do you wonder why I treat you so?
Divorce you from my bone?
well now you know
from Heaven our lives did you throw!
O Eva of my bone, brought me to the tomb!
Eternal temptress, you look at me so
ugly brown eyes, with sin they glow!
You seem so sad; you play pretend
I refuse to trust you 'till the end
until our Saviour has been sent
alluring bee
I play in love
take me to Heaven above!
I hate you so, but won't let you know;
out of Heaven, you did throw!
Love Drug
You drug me with love; something from above
You are my opium dream, so let’s get high tonight!
Go where no others go, why are we alone?
Out of your Heavenly love, I’ve been thrown
In pestilence I’ve grown, broken off of your bone
This was once a home! Out of Heaven we roam!
So, let’s get high and go back to that once forever love
Somewhere above; it’s all shady now but I see you and remember love once existed
In this war, we’ve been enlisted
We must fight, but not tonight!
I want to dream of opium, so I can be so high
Without you, I’m off the love potion
My beautiful dream, are you as happy as you seem?
For where my baby have you been?
I’ve traversed this earth for the drug that was once Heaven; a Haven for lovers
Why are we alone?
The night is for drinking, so why are you thinking?
I cradle you and you are barely blinking
My love, Am I nothing, when your drug is so potent?
Lover, let’s celebrate the night.
A Prayer for Life (20 February 2010)
By Your great mercy I'm alive The fire You kindle and I survive In sins I've cried lest I've thanked You Brought breath to my life like the morning dew Each sunrise is painted by Your heavenly hues And every sunset births the moon to grant us hope Yet I failed to notice the heavenly hostess The Evil one fought me to delve in pain Spinning the wheels of a corrupted brain His words sprought sorrow but You claim me as I feign Cleansing the ground with heavenly rain Sending thunder You terrified the fool who deceives Lighting the earth with Your anger and fire Giving the evil a chance to expire by Your great mercy You intercede giving glory to the life I lead
The Christians are a dying breed We kill ourselves and the word of Your seed But by Your great love you intercede Have mercy on the life I lead; I feign from Your heavenly Creed But by Your great love You've granted me hope And light the darkness with a moon of heavenly lustre Every star; a fire to ignite the pupils of my sleepy eyes until the dawn of morning cries when the earth is brightened with the sun it only dulls in potency to the light of Your love The sun; a metaphor, it shines above Yet we barely notice The fire that burns to light our way Even in the blaze of day Truly, we're moulded from the dust of clay Is it any wonder we run astray? Like foolish beasts we bite The Hand that feeds us and flock to our dust filled tomb but the fire you kindle and we return home
Who is to say there is no hope When You take pity on the weakest of souls? By Your great love You gave us life Although this path is filled with strife You sealed our passports with Your blood And bring forth the heavenly flood Only a fool would refuse this ticket paid Oh God of mercy, I have prayed You love greater than any and teach us to feel Your love, neverending- it moves like the wheel The greatest invention- we didn't invent all of life is heaven-sent And the sun it shines, though the clouds sway Do we thank You for the dawn of day? With our blinded eyes we barely notice Your love let the sun be a metaphor in the sky above.
Micheal's Sword (23 February 2010)
As wing'ed Micheal raises his sword Evil shall act in due accord! And the righteous shall reserve the heavenly reward; Those who praise a singular Lord All across the heavenly board are souls of various states some pierce their eyes at others in hate while others rejoice, their God given fate To those who hated; disowned their Father To those who loved; regained a brother As the heavenly gates open God shall wipe every tear from their eyes (Rev. 21:4) And throw those tears as watercolour to paint the skies There shall be no more pain (Rev. 21:4) was this not worth the heavenly gain? The protector Micheal embraces our hearts at the gate, all Evil parts! As wing'ed Micheal raises his sword Evil shall act in due accord!
Paradise Imagined (25 Feb 2010)
Take me from this mundane land where diamonds coat the shores as sand The waves cheer in celebration as proclaimed in Revelation away from all frustration unearthed of earthly duration land of the courageous devoid of the meek this is Heaven I speak! Clad in a silk gown that falls on my form The finest chiffon spun in Paradise by a million silk worms The sun, hot and heavy, never sets in the land of no regrets Butterflies flank to adorn my hair of the most lively shades No clip is needed They'll fly away in due time and be replaced by one more vibrant The air is heavy of unseen colours and smells of honesuckle and roses and a million scents never scented the water is always warm my feet massaged in the crystals of sand never too hot I long to know this very spot.
The Time we Bade (28 Feb 2010)
Lying forever
In a circle in the sea
Life was sweeter
As the sun bathed our souls
Around we turned but our hearts were rooted
Our souls communicated through our eyes
I knew at once you felt as I did
We were stranded but not lost
The sun guided us in the day
And at night the moon lit our way
Many trails we traversed in these mountains high
We didn’t care if we die
For already we came to heaven and back
Knew love existed in the sand
Felt it beneath our toes
And breathed in its exalt
Peace existed in our hearts
But now forever we are apart
And when I think back now
All problems fade
In remembrance of the time we bade
Our Life a Church (28 February 2010)
Through words we speak
Through paintings we see
Through photos we remember
In maps we search
Our lives represent that of a church
Our souls in conquest
An eternal search
In education we learn
For our souls yearn
And in a moment we adjourn
Again to the cycle we return
Souls (5 March 2010) Passion kindles my very soul though a betwitched countenance greets my eyes tears always pass in honesty but never through lies the cry of the mourner as the screech of the hawks tearing a scoundrel in punishment of life though we live who among us are alive? and among the dead who are alive? For I look in the sky but death is on earth So must we pass to know the grave? Buried deep in the eyes of passers who among us have souls? shining still lit with God's fire how many have been extinguished by earthly winds? As a betwitching countenance greets my eyes you burn of another fire tears pass in honesty but I greet a liar.
Inspire us Now (7 March 2010) Hope sent from Heaven woven in dreams conceived in the heart of a child as yarn woven so finely entangled with age knotted emotions conflicting the soul as yarn about to recoil with every toil, we tangle further away from the pureness of love conceived in our dreams and talents go unused abused God forgive us all in our abominable fall for we were pure on high but lasted shortly as we grew away with time snared in the coil of a snake so for our sake and the sake of all restore us to before our fall as a yarn in a ball let us not recoil and tangle bittersweet is despair! to mangle in our toils and without foils untangle our hearts and weave us as one as the heart of a child conceived in the dreams of love God inspired to our parents inspire us now.
Fireflies (7 March 2010)
Forgive us of our folly
And every hour we despair
Divine love is rare
So inspire us now
To love another as the self
For do we even love ourselves
When we know not the nature of your grace?
The countenance of true love
Unseen to our eyes
As though the night knew no moon or stars
Living hopeless, inspire us to dream
And our hard edges will soften
As the seam of a dress and seem
As silk, make us of your ilk
So we may delight in the fire of the stars
And the glow of the moon
And the fireflies that dance all night
To the beat of a heart
Filled with hope
Caring not if their light extinguishes in the morning to come
They are without mourning
For none is forlorn, so there is none to mourn
And the air they adorn
Although black
Their light shines happily
In complete trust they lust
For your love
And give us the light to delight
In their happiness as we watch them dance.
